Entries being accepted for Product of Excellence Awards

The Binding Industries Association (BIA) is currently accepting entries for the 2014 Product of Excellence Awards. These are open to those who work for a variety of industries, including printing companies, binding suppliers, graphic designers, or any company that produces printed copy.

There are two categories of awards: Graphic Finishing (which has 12 sub-categories including awards for stitching, die-cutting, and case binding) and Loose Leaf (with 17 sub-categories such as foil stamping, turned-edge casebook, and applique). Both main categories also include a "They said it couldn't be done" award.

Those who wish to enter must send two copies of each example of they wish to be considered for an award. Entry fees are $65 for members of the BIA and $50 for each subsequent entry, and $95 for non-members. The deadline for applications is February 21.

Those who are chosen for awards will have their winning entries displayed at the 2014 BIA Annual Conference, which is scheduled to be held at the Fairmont Hotel in Dallas from March 31 to April 2. The conference is set to feature a variety of seminars, presentations, roundtable discussions, and networking opportunities. It is aimed at those who work in the binding industry and their suppliers.

Winners will also receive a plaque, a mention in industry publications, and recognition in any press releases.
