Two graphic communications awards become one

Organizers of the Franklin Event (held by the Printing Industries Alliance) and the Luminaire Awards (presented by the IDEAlliance) have decided to join forces this year and host the Franklin Luminaire Awards reception.

This event is a fundraiser for the Graphic Communications Scholarship Foundation, and it will be held this September in New York City.

The awards that were unique to each event are still in existence and all of them honor those who have been chosen as Best in Communications for the year. Those eligible are owners or employees of advertising, publishing, media, and printing companies.

Winners this year include the recipient of the Franklin Award for Distinguished Service, Howard Draft. In addition, the Luminaire Awards has chosen five honorees including Bonnie Blake from NYU, Gene Kelly of Conde Nast, and Benjamin Palmer of the Barbarian Group.

This event will offer a networking opportunity for those in the business, and allow them to meet with their peers, pay tribute to the most successful among them, and ensure the future of the industry by helping students planning on studying graphic communications to attend the school of their choice.

Sponsorships are also available for the awards and range in price from $3,250 to $6,500, which includes a table for 10.

The Franklin Luminaire Awards reception is taking place at Pier Sixty at Chelsea Piers on September 17 from 5:30 pm - 10:00 pm. Tickets are $400. For more information, contact either Vicki Keenan at 908-298-7711 or Georgia Volakis at 703-837-1075.
